The Akbaraly Foundation supports the GIAHC's activities

The Akbaraly Foundation supports and sponsors the activities of the GIAHC (Global Initiative Against HPV and Cervical Cancer) in India and Malaysia. The GIAHC promotes preventive screening against cervical cancer, with the aim of offering to every woman the chance to be vaccinated, to prevent this disease and to be able to cure it in its initial stages.

COLLABORATION WITH THE ALESSANDRO CEVESE ASSOCIATION

The Italian Ambassador, Mr. Alessandro Cevese, a close friend of Mr. and Mrs. Akbaraly, passed away in April 2008. The Akbaraly family decided then to dedicate a wing of the “Candide Hospital” to his memory. So, the Cevese family created the Alessandro Cevese Association, whose aim is to support our activities in Mahajanga.

RAISING AWARENESS IN SOATANANA

On the 8th of December, the Akbaraly Foundation and the NGO La Vita per Te’s team carried out a mission in the small village of Soatanana, 50 kms away from Fianarantsoa and over 3 hours away thanks to the terrible condition of the track. Here live the community called the “Disciples of the Lord”, where every person, man, woman or child, only wear long white tunics.

THE AKBARALY FOUNDATION SUPPORTS TEACHHER

The Akbaraly Foundation supports the activities of TeachHer, a public-private partnership launched last June by the US Second Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, in collaboration with the US mission to UNESCO. The goal of this project is to encourage young women and girls to pursue the so-called STEAM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, arts and design, math) especially in the developing countries.

THE “REX” FIRST PERMANENT CENTER OF SCIENTIFIC EDUCATION IN FIANARANTSOA

“THE IMPORTANCE OF CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE IN HEALTHCARE AND IN THE COMMUNITY" 6-7 July 2016 - two-days training at the Rex on the subject of hygiene and cleanliness in healthcare settings and in the community. This is the first initiative dedicated to this topic, that introduces a more structured training program that will take place in the coming months at the Rex.

Great opening of the new health center

Cinzia Catalfamo Akbaraly, president of the Akbaraly Foundation, opened the inauguration cerimony of the first center for the prevention of female cancers in Madagascar. The celebration took place on Saturday May 24 in the city of Fianarantsoa in the south of the country

MOBile UNIT pROJECT

The Mobile Unit project was carried out in close collaboration with the Red Cross and it will move its first steps in early October. A vehicle equipped with the most modern machinery will provide health services for prevention and care for people living in rural areas. The vehicle will be able to make cancer screening and will promote public health campaigns in areas far from health care facilities.
